Vintage Longines Manual Wind Silver Borgel Trench Wristwatch with the Original Enamel Dial, Circa 1918
A highly collectable wristwatch used by officers in the trenches. This style of watch became very popular during the First World War and according to hearsay the change from pocket watch to wrist watch was done to avoid being revealed to the enemy.
This watch has a Borgel screw front case and a crystal glass. The case dial and movement are both signed Longinges.
The engraving reads: H.N. Kerr from N. A. 1918.
This watch has been fully serviced and comes with a 12 month, non-waterproof service cover, not including any breakages or misuse.
